Recently, interest in the role of T-type calcium channels in the brain has increased because of their importance in neurodevelopmental disorders such as autism spectrum disorder, neural tube defects, and TATA-box binding protein associated factor 1 (TAF1) intellectual disability (ID) syndrome (Cheong and Shin, 2013; Abdul-Wajid et al., 2015; Janakiraman et al., 2019).
