HAMP and inflammatory bowel disease: Serum ferritin levels (394 ± 515 vs. 119 ± 124 ng/ml, P = 0.001) as well serum hepcidin to ferritin ratio (0.34 ± 0.17 vs. 0.22 ± 0.09, P = 0.02) were significantly higher in the control group when compared to IBD patients (Table 2).
