Similarly, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD)-related HCC patients with cirrhosis have increased levels of circulating IL-13 compared to patients with cirrhosis but without HCC [15], and higher serum IL-13 levels were recently associated with HCC development in non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) [16].
