INS and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: As expected, the amount of hepatic fat content (HFF%) was markedly increased in NAFLD patients, but it was comparable between Group M and Group G. Also, after stratifying patients in Group M according to the presence of metabolic syndrome, we found that those with NAFLD and MetS were older (p = 0.026), showed higher BMI (p = 0.008) and WC (p = 0.021), higher fasting glucose (p = 0.012), and insulin levels (p = 0.012) as well as indices of insulin resistance (p = 0.008) when compared with those in Group M without MetS diagnosis (data not shown).
