It has also been reported that NLRP3 inflammasome is regarded as an important contributor to methionine- and choline-deficient (MCD) diet–induced nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) (48), and blockade of NLRP3 inflammasome activation can reduce liver inflammation and fibrosis, as well as improve NASH pathology (49).
