NFKB1 and lung carcinoma: Functional binding of NF-κB to the first intron of the LIN28B gene was also reported in a human lung cancer cell line where the oncogenic Mucin 1 C-terminal subunit (MUC1-C) transmembrane protein functions together with the NF-κB p65/RelA subunit at the first intron of the LIN28B gene; it was also shown that this interaction could be disrupted by inhibitors of NF-κB or MUC1-C homodimerization [84].
