CTLA4 and cancer: ICIs are an important method of cancer immunotherapy and are aimed at blocking several targets that interfere with the proliferation of T-lymphocytes, such as cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated protein 4 (CTLA-4) [79], programmed cell death 1 (PD-1) [80], programmed cell death ligand 1 (PD-L1) [81] (Figure 2).
