The natural helminth-infected multiple sclerosis cohort (HIMS) shows significantly higher eosinophilia (1576±250.5 count/mm3, p<0.001) and plasma IgE titers (1667±675.2 IU/ml, p<0.001) compared with the uninfected MS cohort (278.9±114.5 count/mm3 and 448±206.2 IU/ml, respectively), confirming the presence of a type II environment response. The gene discussed is IGHE; the disease is multiple sclerosis.
