A study by Latifkar et al. (2019) (McAndrews et al., 2019), identified sirtuin 1 (SIRT1) levels were significantly decreased in the triple negative breast cancer patients, and from their in vitro studies it was evident that the knockdown of SIRT1 significantly increased release of exosomes and autophagic factors. Here, SIRT1 is linked to triple-negative breast carcinoma.
