Dissection of NF-κB complex in HNSCC revealed a strong NF-κB activity composed of p50:p50 homodimer in HPV-negative lesions, whereas HPV16-positive lesions showed comparatively lower activity with additional participation of p65 and c-Rel (Mishra et al., 2006). This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma.
