CD16+ monocytes accumulate during inflammatory conditions and produce higher levels of pro-inflammatory cytokines, such as TNF-α and IL-1β, compared with classical monocytes.15 Interestingly, while uveal melanoma patients showed higher expressions of MHC class I (HLA-ABC) on all investigated myeloid populations, the levels of MHC class II (HLA-DR) were lower on classical monocytes and on both analyzed DC populations.
