The platelet-lowering effect of anti-TNF-α therapy has been reported in patients with other autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis and IBD, and some of them even evolve into drug-induced side effects such as thrombocytopenia (Brunasso and Massone, 2009; Chen et al., 2011; Mares et al., 2011; Casanova et al., 2012). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and psoriasis.
