Even if evidences are weak (Pun et al., 2020), a possibly reduced ACE‐2 expression as a form of altitude adaptation has been considered as being beneficial for COVID‐19 (Arias‐Reyes et al., 2020), although COVID‐19 risk appears to be unaffected by changed ACE‐2 expression in response to ACE inhibitors or angiotensin receptor blockers (Khera et al.,). This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and COVID-19.
