Another interesting finding is the low-frequency S1PR2 variant p.Y257C (chr19:10224136T>C, MAF = 0.003) which we found to be associated with decreased LDL-C (effect of -0.37 SD, P = 6 × 10−9) and a decreased risk of coronary artery disease, including myocardial infarction (odds ratio 0.45, P = 0.0005), without being associated with liver enzyme traits (Supplementary Data 12). This evidence concerns the gene S1PR2 and myocardial infarction.
