Diverse mutations within both, STIM1 and Orai1, have been reported to be connected to different types of cancer, like lung adenocarcinoma (STIM1 A79T, E87Q, W350L, G446C/V), glioblastoma (Orai1 G183D, STIM1 S116N), uterine carcinoma (Orai1 S159L), colorectal tumor (Orai1 A137V), stomach carcinoma (Orai1 M139V), skin melanoma (STIM1 T517I, S521L), neck carcinoma (Orai1 G247S) [132,250] (Table 2). The gene discussed is STIM1; the disease is head and neck carcinoma.
