Genes elevated in tumor endothelial cells compared to the non‐tumor endothelial cells included the von Willebrand factor VWA1, encoding a glycoprotein previously shown to facilitate tumor cell extravasation (Terraube et al, 2007), as well as SOX17 (Yang et al, 2012) and INSR (Nowak‐Sliwinska et al, 2019), both shown to promote tumor angiogenesis (Fig 2A).
