In PCa cells these receptors are mainly associated with the Gαi/cAMP pathway, triggering the activity of a tyrosine phosphatase, and subsequent inactivation of tyrosine kinase receptors (i.e., EGF-R and IGF-I-R), and finally interfering with downstream different molecular pathways, such as the MAPK and PI3K/AKT signaling cascades. Here, AKT1 is linked to posterior cortical atrophy.
