IL-6 –597G>A polymorphism was not significantly related with the risk of HCC in dominant (GG vs AA+GA: OR = 0.95, 95% CI = 0.59–1.54, P = .84, I2 = 37%), recessive (GG+GA vs AA: OR = 1.49, 95% CI = 0.13–17.35, P = .75, I2 = 87%), allele (G vs A: OR = 1.03, 95% CI = 0.55–1.94, P = .93, I2 = 78%), and codominant (GG vs AA: OR = 1.41, 95% CI = 0.11–17.60, P = .79, I2 = 87%) models (Fig. 8). This evidence concerns the gene IL6 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
