Based on our results, expression of PKCα and phosphorylated PKCα, PKCβ, and PKCδ seem to be positively associated with RFS, with different isozymes linked to smoking and mutational status of EGFR, KRAS, and TP53. These results illustrate the need to better understand the biological context in order to further improve targeted therapy in cancer. The gene discussed is KRAS; the disease is cancer.
