Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) study for MYC, BCL2, and BCL6 rearrangements should be performed on every Burkitt lymphoma case, because the presence of MYC and BCL2 and/or BCL6 in what is otherwise a Burkitt lymphoma makes it a high-grade B-cell lymphoma per the current edition of WHO Classification of Tumours of Hematopoietic and Lymphoid Tissues [12]. Here, BCL2 is linked to B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
