Since p53 has a redox regulatory role (Sablina et al, 2005; Kruiswijk et al, 2015) and its activity is dependent on the redox environment (Hainaut & Milner, 1993; Ueno et al, 1999), separating APR‐246 anti‐tumor activities mediated by mutant p53 from those mediated by altered redox balance is complex (Eriksson et al, 2019).
