As shown in Figure 3B, all transcripts tested (MT-ND1, MT-ND2, MT-ND3, MT-ND4, MT-ND4L, MT-ND5, MT-ND6, MT-ATP6, MT-ATP8, MT-CYTB, MT-CO1, MT-CO2, and MT-CO3 mRNAs, and MT-RNR1 rRNA) were significantly more abundant in EV RNAs obtained from individuals with MCI due to AD (but not from individuals with mild AD dementia) than in EV RNA from HC individuals. Here, MT-ND4L is linked to Alzheimer disease.
