CDKN2A and hepatocellular carcinoma: The impact of “D+Q” on the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) was recently explored, and the preliminary data suggest that maximal cytostatic doses for D and/or Q (1 + 1 μm) failed to show efficacy in removing doxorubicin‐induced β‐gal‐positive senescent cells.[79] Moreover, “D+Q” did not affect flattened morphology, p16INK4a activation, the SASP expression or γH2AX focus formation of senescent cells, suggesting these compounds may be ineffective when combined with certain types of senescence‐inducing chemotherapy, especially against experimental HCC.
