Interestingly, Da et al. observed that the interaction of FTO and MC4R polymorphisms showed a strong association with breast cancer: there was a 4.59-fold increased risks for women who have the allele combination C/T/C (FTO rs1121980/FTO rs9939609/MC4R rs17782313) (Da Cunha et al., 2013). Here, MC4R is linked to breast carcinoma.
