Race and expression levels of five obesity-related genes (POMC, LEP, PCSK1, MTCH2, and NEGR1) could remarkably impact the survival probability of patients with ten types of cancer (SKCM, KIRP, LUSC, TGCT, KICH, HNSC, BLCA, GBM, PAAD, and UCEC), especially SKCM, KIRP, LUSC, and TGCT (Figure 5(b)). The gene discussed is POMC; the disease is obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
