Nsiri et al., working with a relatively small sample size (n = 12), in contrast to our study and Buseri et al. [22], reported significantly lower fibrinogen concentration in SCA patients in the steady-state than Hb AA controls 96.5 ± 17.0 mg/dL vs. 102.5 ± 11.5 mg/dL, p < 0.001 [23].
