Previous reports have demonstrated increased expression of fibroblast growth factor receptor 1 (FGFR1) during EMT and FGFR1 plays a key role in metastatic tumour growth and is suggested as a mechanism of resistance in targeted molecular therapies.66–68 Given these previous findings, we observed FGFR1 differential dependency in primary and metastatic cell lines (Fig. 5a, p = 9.34 × 10−4). The gene discussed is FGFR1; the disease is neoplasm.
