Adjusted models revealed that higher adiponectin levels were protective of obesity (OR = 0.18; 95% CI 0.09–0.38), insulin resistance (OR = 0.17; 95% CI 0.07–0.45) and dyslipidemia (OR = 0.34; 95% CI 0.18–0.66). This evidence concerns the gene ADIPOQ and obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
