Additionally, in a double-blind randomized controlled trial, where CAPeo was administered to human subjects at doses corresponding to the consumption of 2–3 cups of beverage per day, confirmed that CAPeo decreases symptoms duration and severity, as well as systemic inflammation, as assayed by C-reactive protein [CRP] levels9,10, in patients with upper respiratory tract infections, with an apparent absence of toxicity, after the recommended 1-week consumption.
