Metabolomics analysis revealed the release of different lipid classes in the serum (e.g., PUFAs, hydroxy-fatty acids) by the adipose tissue that could, in principle, be better processed and fully oxidized in the liver, which in turn reduces steatosis and hepatic inflammation in NQO1-Tg mice (Supplementary Fig. 3c). This evidence concerns the gene NQO1 and steatosis.
