Both cell types significantly reduced the positive staining for α-SMA (CKD = 2.46 ± 0.3 vs. RPC = 1.3 ± 0.4 vs. hiPSC = 1.79 ± 0.7, p = 0.0006) suggesting a reduction in fibrosis (Fig. 4). The gene discussed is ACTA1; the disease is chronic kidney disease.
