Furthermore, FOXK1 protein expression was determined to be markedly inhibited after miR-497-5p overexpression, which was restored by overexpression of XIST in HT29 and SW480 cells (Fig. 5f), suggesting that XIST could regulate FOXK1 via directly acting on miR-497-5p in CRC cells.
