Several biomarkers such as S100B, neuron-specific enolase (NSE), and glial fibrillary acid protein (GFAP) were shown to be associated with the clinical outcome in patients with head concussion trauma, ischemic stroke, intracerebral hemorrhage, cardiac arrest, anoxic encephalopathy, encephalitis, brain metastasis, and status epilepticus [16–20]. This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and cardiac arrest.
