The identification of activating epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) mutations plays an important role in determining the treatment response to EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs), including gefitinib, erlotinib, afatinib and, more recently, osimertinib in advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients. Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
