In multivariate analysis taking into account all these parameters except elevated BNP and other cancer locations than breast (they appeared not statistically significant factors and were excluded from the final model), AID was independently associated with female gender (OR 2.4 [1.47; 3.84], p < 0.01), anemia (OR 1.9 [1.33; 2.91], p < 0.01), DM (OR 2.3 [1.26; 4.14], p < 0.01), whereas FID – with breast cancer (OR 0.4 [0.19; 0.84], p < 0.05) and anemia (OR 5.0 [2.98; 8.45], p < 0.01). The gene discussed is NPPB; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
