In terms of epithelial markers, there was a statistically significant decrease in the immunoreactivity of E-cadherin (24.6% vs. 12.6%, p = 0.037), desmoplakin (15.6% vs. 2.3%, p = 0.007), α-catenin (41.3% vs. 28.3%, p = 0.042), and β-catenin (38.6% vs. 16.9%, p = 0.029) in BM compared with that in lung adenocarcinoma (Table 2), and an inverse proportion was found in the linear correlation of these markers (Figure 1); this finding indicated that the expression of these four epithelial markers was decreased in BM. This evidence concerns the gene DSP and lung adenocarcinoma.
