Epidermal growth factor receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitors (EGFR-TKIs), including gefitinib, erlotinib, afatinib, and dacomitinib, are effective as first-line treatment for advanced non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) harbouring activating EGFR mutations (e.g., deletions in exon 19 and the exon 21 L858R mutation) [1–5]. Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
