CD4 and carcinoma: In addition, immune function is also affected by the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T cells.[19–21] A change in immune function is one of the factors affecting prognosis.[22] Changes in the ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T cells were confirmed by experiments with carcinoma-bearing mice.[13] Consequently, a decreased ratio of CD4+/CD8+ T cells should also be considered as a possible reason why splenomegaly indicates poor prognosis.
