This is also supported by our findings that reduced average methylation was identified at two differentially methylated regions (DMRs), which have previously been shown to control transcription from imprinted genes in the locus, including MEG3. In contrast to our findings, Oshima G, et al., showed that expression of 14q32-encoded miRNAs was a favorable prognostic factor in patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (32). The gene discussed is MEG3; the disease is metastatic colorectal cancer.
