Furthermore, children with high house dust mite-specific IgE level is at the highest risk of rhinitis and asthma8,20, which is in consonance with our study that an increased serum total IgE level (≥ 200 kU/L) strongly correlated with mite-specific IgE levels appeared to significantly increase risk of rhinitis and asthma after age 2.
