Remarkably, the Dnmt3b-deficient mouse liver showed severe hepatitis especially around the Glisson sheath as compared to the liver of Dnmt3b-wild type (WT) mice (Fig. 3B, left panels), with massive infiltration of macrophages (Fig. 3B, right panels) as well as the increased recruitment of neutrophils and lymphocytes (Supplementary Fig. S2A). Here, DNMT3B is linked to hepatitis A virus infection.
