A more recent systematic review [9] examined 12 studies (11 of depression comorbid with other conditions) of inflammatory associations with psychotherapies in RCTs; no significant effects of therapy on inflammation were identified and only one study [10] had assessed inflammatory predictors of response (finding elevated CRP preceding a poorer response to therapies, not assessing cytokines longitudinally) [9]. Here, CRP is linked to major depressive disorder.
