Patients with CEA values higher than 3 ng/mL revealed an increased risk of cancer (HR 2.0, 95% CI 1.3–3.1), CRC (HR 4.4, 95% CI 1.1–17.7) and non-gastrointestinal cancer (HR 1.7, 95% CI 1.0–2.8). This evidence concerns the gene CEACAM5 and cancer.
