Higher residual platelet reactivity has been known as an independent risk factor for recurrent stroke in patients with ischemic stroke or transient ischemic attack [19], but ATM was successful in keeping the rate of recurrent ischemic stroke for ischemic stroke or TIA patients with higher residual platelet reactivity down to the same value as for the antiplatelet responders. The gene discussed is ATM; the disease is transient ischemic attack.
