Patients with autoantibodies to ds-DNA and anti-Ro were thoroughly checked for SLE; fortunately, none of these patients had clinical and laboratory evidence of SLE. We compared our results with a large multicentre Western study conducted by Biazar et al. [22], a local study conducted by Bajaj et al. [10], and a literature review done in Saudia Arabia by AlSaif [23] and observed that our results were comparable. This evidence concerns the gene CALR and systemic lupus erythematosus.
