Previously, Neuhofer et al., demonstrated that the deficiency of protectin D1 and 17-HDHA (the precursor of RvD1) is linked to the development and perpetuation of obesity-driven adipose tissue inflammation that promotes type 2 diabetes, and this may be corrected by the addition of 17-HDHA resulting in increased levels of peroxisome proliferator-activated (PPAR)γ, PPARα and adiponect [47]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and obesity disorder.
