The NT-proBNP cutoff value of greater than 12 000 ng/L in control newborns identified 3 asymptomatic neonates, and cardiac review revealed 1 case of ventricular septal defect and 2 cases of patent ductus arteriosus (PDA) in these neonates that required further cardiac follow-up. This evidence concerns the gene NPPB and Patent ductus arteriosus.
