ACE2 and allergic respiratory disease: In the present study, only two ofthe 15 asthmatic patients presented wheezing after being diagnosed with COVID-19.This atypical behavior of SARS-CoV-2 infection is not yet fully known, but there isevidence that the lower expression of the virus cell receptor (ACE2) in airway cellsof children and adults with asthma and/or respiratory allergy contributes to thelower severity of the clinical conditions.13
