As shown in Figure 7 the GSK-3β phosphorylation inhibition produced by wortmannin and LY294002 reversed the neuroprotective effect of APG treatment, as indicated by the worse neurological outcome and larger brain infarct volume than observed in the wild-type mouse group (APG vs. APG+wrt; APG vs. APG+LY, P < 0.05; respectively).
