TRPV3 and Olmsted syndrome 1: RT-PCR or q-PCR analysis showing the absence of TRPV3 in human BMECs (Golech et al., 2004; Hatano et al., 2013) and gain-of-function mutations in human TRPV3 are associated with Olmsted syndrome, which is characterized by severe palmoplantar and periorificial keratoderma (Greco et al., 2020; Zhang et al., 2020).
